Hi,

We have a VNX setup with Recoverpoint CLR that for internal reporting and off-site DR.  The CDP replicates our production database (64 spindles R10+ FAST cache) into a "Reporting" storage pool (16 spindles in RAID5, no FAST).  Recoverpoint keeps the target LUNs updated, and we have a nightly Replication Manager job that bookmarks, snaps, and mounts these target LUNs to a reporting server. 

The above setup has been running for about 4 months, but we're starting to notice disk contention in the Reporting storage pool which we're OK with since the SLA in that tier is low, but I suspect it's causing side effects on the SP level.  We're seeing high write cache utilization and subsequent high number of dirty pages on the SP causing occasional forced flushes.  We're seeing this on SPB who owns 4/6 contested target LUNs. 

Therefore my question is, how many people are using RP for reporting reasons?  If so do you have a 1:1 spindle count with production?  Is what we're doing following best practices?
