DVD+DVDBURNER not detected
I have spent the last 3 hours on the phone to tech support and cannot come up with a solution. I just recieved this replacement computer. The Dvd drive and DVD burners are not detected. Both drives are on cable select. We have tried switching the cords on the motherboard, with no avail. We have done everything, it is not showing up in bios. We have tried inserting another dvd drive but that did not work, it is definatly the computer and not the drives. It does not show up in windows, and I am going crazy! The dell tech will be calling me back soon, so hopfully you all can help me before he does.
I will let you know if we did that already...(what you tell me to do)

Hi Ryan,
If you have covered the majority of the standard steps; Clearing the NVRAM; Restoring Set-up Defaults; Re-loading the Secondary IDE channel; Upper & Lower Filters; New IDE cables; Tested with only one drive using both Cable Select & old Master settings; Updated the BIOS; Repair or Clean install of OS; Removed CMOS battery, wait 5 minutes, re-boot;
and stil no drives,
the next thing may be the motherboard itself.
