Fitting additional SCSI drives.
I just got a used 650, great spec, great machine, but, it only has one 36Gb SCSI drive.
It has a LSI Logic U320 SCSI Controller, and a FUJITSU MAP3367NP SCSI Disk Device.
First, would I need a 68 or 80 pin drive ?
The other thing I am unsure about, is will I have to configure the SCSI controller, when I add the new drive, or will it reognise the new drive, and set up itself ?

In order for the LSI controller to recognize additional drives, is to assign the drive a unique binary ID: this is a simple procedure were you insert a jumper across two pins on the drive's circuit board; the location of the drive ID pins will depend on the drive's manufacturer: Seagate/Fujitsu/Maxtor. You can go to the Mfg. Websites of the new drive purchased, and you will find a visual representation of the drive’s jumper settings.
Also you need to make sure the SCSI cable you currently have will support more that one device. You may need to purchase a two/three device cable, and make sure it comes with a built in terminator: SCSI cables required too be terminated at the last device or drive installed on the SCSI channel.
Then once installed, and power applied the LSI card will recognize the drive. You can then initialize the drive via the Windows disk management console setup located in the control panel, assign a drive letter, quick format, and you’re good to go.
