help!!! Tried everything!!!!!!!!

OK,

Computer performing really slow. Even my cable modem takes forever.

Anyway, here is what I have done to correct:

Installed and ran spybot and adware.

Defragmented hard drive

MSCONFIG to check only software needed to operate.

The above is not working - this computer takes forever.....

ie. opening a simple word doc takes 25 seconds or so.

please help.

Hi,

Please advise:-

What model computer, specifications of it and what operating system.

Exact full text of any error messages

MS Word problems can often be solved by deleting all copies of the MS Word template file "NORMAL.DOT"

With the basic details we may be able to help, without them it is very unlikely that anyone will be able to help you.

Please post more information about your computer and operating system. Have you scanned for viruses? You might want to post your message on the 'general hardware' board and the board for your operating system, under software.

Processor - intel (R)Pentium(R)4 cpu 1.8GHZ

Processor speed - 1.75 GHZ

RAM     - 256

OPS      Windows XP Home edition
