    Hi Gerry,

Looks to me like it's already there.

    Hello osprey,

    and, thanks for your time.

Yes, the icon is there, but the new incoming mail notifications

which should appear on top of the icon do not.

I did try a lot of links, but, no joy.

    Thanks,

    Gerry

The icon on the top is for web mail -- set up the Microsoft Outlook client to retrieve your email.

I can retrieve my mail using either the icon at the top of the page,

or, the one on the bottom task bar.

What I'm looking for is the new email notification

which places a number on the lower taskbar icon,

and, increments when new emails are received.

The Hotmail is working fine with the exception

    of the icon notification.

    Thanks,

    Gerry

    Hi Gerry,

I'm using an older version (2010) so I don't see a number. Just the normal icon or an icon indicating unread mail.

Do you have some type of flashing icon, or any indication

that that you have an unread email?

Or is the icon always on your lower task bar?

The W7 O/S I have is also a bit old.

Somehow I do remember seeing a number on

the lower task bar Hotmail icon.

    G.

    ^^^^^

Here is the link I'm trying to use.

I'm not getting any numerical indications of unread emails.

And yes, the icon is always on the taskbar.
