Hi,

My son wiped out XP on his PC by mistake while installing Linux Ubuntu. I am trying to recover the lost data from his PC by doing the following:

1-remove the hard drive from my son's pc (Seagate  Barracuda 250G sata).

2-hook it up to my Dell Dimension E521 as secondary drive

3-recover the lost data using Photorec

4-save the recovered files to the Dell's hard drive 

Can you please tell me if the above procedure makes sense? What is the procedure for hooking up the secondary hard drive to the Dell E521? Will the Dell computer (XP os) recognize the Linux  drive (Linux)?
