The original hard drive on my Latitude CPxJ650 died so i got a new drive. Do i need to set any special partitions before doing a normal install. I remember an old Compaq of mine used to have a diagnostic partition that had to be installed.  Also, is it wise to update my bios as i plan to replace the win 98 with xp. I have A10 bios, newest seems to be A16 or A17?  Thanks.
