Dell XPS 10 keyboards

Recently I bought a Dell XPS 10 tablet. Would it work if I was to buy a keyboard for it that isn't the official keyboard dock for it? Just like a generic 10" keyboard. I wasn't sure if it has to be the keyboard made for it, and I can't afford the official keyboard so wanted to know if I could use a keyboard made by other brands.

    Yes, the XPS 10 comes with a USB dongle (micro USB to Full size Female USB) that allows you to connect any Windows RT supported USB device to the XPS 10. I just tested connected a Microsoft Natural keyboard using the dongle and it worked fine. You could also connect a USB HUB with a keyboard/mouse and any other USB devices. I have done this with the dock, connecting keyboard, mouse, HDMI (external monitor) and its quite useful as a productivity device (since it has full office). Now if only it have Visual Studio... :)

    There is a separate 40-pin dongle available that gives you the breakout the dock does as well (USB, HDMI, 40-pin pass through) available from Dell here:

    That would be a great one cable connector solution for docking that is much cheaper than the dock.

    You are correct, the Latitude 10 will work with the XPS keyboard dock just be removing the pins. Don't know why Dell fail to make a keyboard just for the Latitude, considering the one for the XPS does indeed work; albeit with some tinkering.
