I agree with you I would never use 4.2.2 at this point. I am asking more for historical reasons. I have not found a place that list a time frame of what code was target code when.
You could try the uptime bulletins on the support site which list the target code (Q4 2017, Q1 2018 for example). Looking through the resources I can find, it looks like 4.2.1 was target and then was superseded by 4.2.3 as target due to the ETA Andre mentioned above.
I recommend you upgrade to current Unity target code. RCA requests to Dell/EMC Unity Engineering for 4.2.1 code are being turned down. I feel the message is very important to get to the user community, since the last time I checked around ~70% of the Unity storage system reporting home are running 4.2.1 or earlier code. Production outage or install base has nothing to do with getting an RCA.
The Product Updates email contain a link to the Target Revision and Adoption Rate report, that is where I got the ~70%
Below is the link to Target Revision and Adoption Rate report Unity is at the bottom.

Hi TimK,
I have tweaked the Unity OE Matrix KB to include this info now as it might be useful to some customers.
Have a look here:

Thanks
