We do it by replicating the VDM, then breaking the replication and mounting it r/w on the destination, then take r/w checkpoints and share the checkpoints out on that VDM. We do the DR test with test data only, then we delete the shares and trash the checkpoints with the test data.

How would you access replicated NFS mounts on this new backup/DR interface ?
The replicated file systems are married to the replicated NAS are they not ?

What you can do is to create a "backup/DR Interface" on the destination NAS Server and access the data there via NFS.
And no - CIFS Access through that is not possible and also not the VNX procedure
