First, download, install, update and run Spybot and see if that gets rid of most of these problems.

    http://security.kolla.de/

Then run HijackThis again and post the results either in the SpywareInfo.com forum or here.

No, you should not put up with the idgsearch as your default search page.  You should probably tell Hijack This to delete all of the lines with idg search, but I'm not an expert on Hijack This.  You should either post in the spywareinfo.com forum or wait until ChrisRLG, our resident Hijack This expert, comes along and makes some suggestions.

Hi steve, anyone for a training course, I could pass on what I am being taught, its not hard, just very time consuming.

Sorry purple'doc' that I was away, but here is my diagnosis (sorry could not help myself)

Tick these item in hijackthis, and WITH ALL BROWSER WINDOWS CLOSED, fix ticked.

    O2 - BHO: GoogleMS Search Helper - {79369D5C-2903-4b7a-ADE2-D5E0DEE14D24} - C:\Documents and Settings\The Lewis Family\Application Data\GoogleMS.dll

You have two or three line refering to freeserve, which I think you have via ADSL, this following line may be connected to those, it should be your DNS servers, BUT if not that it could cause redirections. Ask freeserve if its thiers, if not that would need to be fixed.
    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{8E86BE95-84FF-4A3E-A74F-5743EE971D2C}: NameServer = 195.92.195.95 195.92.195.94

These look to be connected to yahoo messenger and if not required could be ticked also. They are not in the list of known BHO's, and some virus/spys try to fool us, and at least one using the yahoo name, so if you could I would fix these and then reinstall what ever you had from yahoo.

When done please reboot and post a fresh hijackthis log for me to check.

    Have rechecked the yahoo items

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\ycomp.dll

Is known by our BHO lists as
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4EFB-9B51-7695ECA05670} - C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\ycomp.dll

IE caps for the three middle letters, It is OK don't delete those two lines. If you have it would remove your yahoo toolbar, you would then need to reinstall it.

I will advise the BHO list compile team for futer lists.

    Your welcome.

Follow the link below to my site (malware section) and install spywareblaster and spywareguard. Those should help stop you getting infected the next time. BTW just like Anti-virus programs they need updating say weekly. Also run spybot S&D say weekly (Updated also).
