Below are the results of symfast list -control_parms and symfast list -state.
I'm trying to determine if I set FAST VP Data Movement Mode from NONE to Automatic (only options), if it will still do a user approval mode like old "FAST" did, or will it start just moving data per policy setup? I kinda want to see where it determines things are going to go before just setting the control_parms to Auto..
Can someone clarify this please?
Thank you,
Brian

I guess that is kinda scary to me then. Although I trust the algorithm, I was under the impression that I could see what it is going to do before it actually does it
Right now the policy is set to 100/100/100 for EFD/FC/SATA for 'tuning purposes' and I suppose we can dial things tighter as we see more results.
Right, I guess by using the size extents fast uses things are going to be much more efficient...even with some databases, etc.
My thoughts are that any 'miscalculation error' would probably be abosorbed by Cache anyway. But I'm sure EMC has thought of all of this. I'm probably over thinking it and I should just turn it on and let the good times roll.

There is no user approve mode for FAST VP. It is either on or off.
