Sometimes, it doesn't work. Try it once again.

VNX is a storage array from EMC, there is a virtual appliance that runs VNX FIle version of it inside of a VMware machine. This has nothing to do with VNX (Virtual network of Linux) that you are asking about. Wrong forum.

Sorry for the inconvenience @dynamox. Can you redirect me to the correct forum?

It is not the official configuration.

    https://support.emc.com/docu10716_VNX-for-File-Simulator-Installation-and-Configuration-Guide.pdf?language=en_US

    Software requirements

    • 64-bit-capable operating system supported by VMware Workstation or VMware Player

Note: Refer to the VMware software documentation for more information.

    • VMware software requirements:
      • One Data Mover: VMware Workstation 5.5.9 or higher, or VMware Player
      • Two Data Movers: VMware Workstation 6.0 or higher, or VMware Player

You may try VMware Player which is also free.

He is NOT talking about the VNX file simulator from EMC – he is asking about the “VNX network simulator” – an open source network simulation tool …

Sound like someone just google – found a hit for VNX and didn’t look whether its actually the same thing
