Audio problems

Hello.

I was having problems the other day with my internet, so I had to uninstall the internet software and reinstall it. In the process, I accidentally deleted the PCI Multimedia Audio Device to my Dell computer. I tried adding new hardware, but my computer wouldn't accept it, stating that it didn't know the provider of the download. I don't know what to do next! Can anybody help me? I'd really like to have sound back on my computer. Thanks!

You need to post details regarding your specific system model, operating system (presumably Windows 98, given the location of your post) and the audio device that's installed on your particular system, i.e., Creative Sound Blaster, Turtle Beach Montego II, etc.  Another option (if you know the aforementioned details) is to simply use the Product Support button (above left) - Downloads link, enter the necessary information, and download the appropriate drivers from the web.  Once that's done, use the same Product Support button, Reinstall Guide link, and view the installation instructions for your particular system/audio device.
