Background Display

I have an Inspiron 5000e, Windows Me laptop. When I select Control Panel, then double-click
on Display, on Display Properties I click on the Desk Top tab, right underneath on the
Background tab, I click on of the items, Example "Windows logo". When I look at the pic
on the little tv above this it's blank but I go ahead and select it anyway and I Apply and then
I click OK, the "Windows logo" wallpaper does appear on my desktop. It just doesn't show
up on the little tv in the desktop tab. How do I get the pic to show up on the little tv. I'd like
to know what the wallpaper looks like before I select it. By the way as I scroll down to view
the wallpaper items just some are blank not all of the selections are. Thank you for your help.

I am not sure why it doesn't show up whem you select a new wallpaper. It should show before you even apply it. But go to control panel, select add/remove software. Then select windows setup (I think for ME) and go down the list to see if wallpaper is installed. If you click once on each listing then you can select details and see what you can add. Good chance with ME all wallpaper options are not installed form the windows CD.
