    Hi Ijaz.M,

I believe that your laptop has windows 8, please try the following steps.

    • Please ensure all windows updates are installed.
    • Press the Windows button from your keyboard.
    • Type ‘Windows’ and follow the on screen instructions.

In case the issue still persists, update the BIOS:

Note: Please save any unsaved data as your system will restart automatically after updating the BIOS. Disconnect all the external peripherals like printer, camera, scanner, external hard drive, flash drive etc. Also, the battery should be charged 10% or above.

    • Click on the link:  http://dell.to/QjjZDA
    • Enter your system's ‘Service tag’.
    • Go to 'BIOS' and select the BIOS.
    • Click on 'Download Now'.
    • Select 'Single-file Download' and click on 'Continue'.
    • Click on 'Run' and follow the on screen instructions.

You can try to uninstall and re-install ‘Dell Backup and Recovery Software’. Follow these steps:

    • Press Windows+ 'X' key on the keyboard.
    • Select 'Programs and Features' from the context menu that appears on the left bottom corner.
    • Scroll and search for ‘Dell Backup and Recovery’ software from the application list.
    • Right click on it and click on ‘uninstall’.
    • Download and reinstall the latest version of dell backup and recovery from the following link: http://bit.ly/UUjIs0

Please try these steps and share the status. Please reply for any further questions.

I would also recommend making a supplementary backup on an external hard drive using Acronis. See Section 3 of Windows Reinstallation Guide:
