drop-down memory in Internet Explorer

I have been trying for a month or more to find the right setting to get drop-down memory while using Internet Explorer.

I know it can be done - as I have a friend with the same operating system (XP) who has the drop-down memory.

I'd appreciate any help anyone can give me.

I think what you are referring to is called "Autocomplete". Open Internet Explorer and click on Tools > Internet Options. Click on the Content tab and then on the Autocomplete button. Then put a check mark next to Web Addresses. You can also enable in-line autocomplete by clicking on the Advanced tab and putting a check mark next to "Use in-line autocomplete".
