I somehow managed to delete a certain font used by the system in a few control panels and 3rd party software.
I am pretty sure that I added every font available to the font folder, reinstalling them manually, but still the problem persists. An example of where a font is missing and is substituted by a non-fitting font is the 3d-Tab in the Catalysts driver settings. Other tabs work fine :p
In other software, it's also mostly settings panels, where the font is missing.
Now, could anyone tell me which font is used there, so I can make sure whether or not I have it installed again already? :p
I already added all font files XP stored in the dllcache directory, can't have been one of those...
Windows XP has a "System Restore" function and you may be able to recover what you accidentally deleted.
To access System Restore, Click Start then Click Run. Enter msconfig and then Click OK. When the panel comes up, click the "Launch System Restore" Button. Follow the instructions to restore your computer to an earlier time. When you get to the restore date/time option, select a date/time BEFORE you deleted the font. That MAY get it back. Good Luck.

Thanks for your attempt to help, though it unfortunately didn't solve the problem. Not even rolling back to the restore point at system installation did help.
