I had to replace my primary C drive due to a hardware failure. Thankfully I had a Full Computer Backup image. I installed the hard drive and booted with the Vista disc and went to REPAIR and FULL SYSTEM RESTORE (or whatever it's called). When that completed, to my horror it overwrote the wrong drive! Instead of restoring to what was supposed to be the C drive it overwrote my high capacity disc I used for downloading vids from my dvr plus all my video projects!!!! At no time during the process was I under the impression it was writing over this disc nor did it give me an option to choose what disc to restore too. Any ideas what happened here so I don't do it again? Thanks, Tom Here is the summary of my drives: Drive 1 - 160gb primary drive for C:\ Drive 2 - 300gb drives contains the Windows Full Backup Image Drive 3 - 500gb storage drive for dvr and video projects. Drive 1 failed, replaced with an identical drive from Dell. Restored image from drive 2 but it restored to drive 3 instead of drive 1, thus overwriting with a 160gb partition and an unallocated 320gb partition.
