HELP!! reinstall bluetooth? which disc?
Greetings!
I have a 2008 Dell with Vista windows on it. I had to reinstall Vista, but now have no bluetooth... I have had several dells over the years, & have many reinstall discs, but not sure which disc came with what computer, or which disc the bluetooth app would be on? (ie: 'drivers & utilities' or 'applications').
Which disc would bluetooth be on?

my "service tag" came up with XPS 420 , running vista home. Im not sure if thats what you mean, I just wish I knew which disc to put in... this is so frustrating!

Tried it, went thru the run & unzip steps... still does not work.
went to device mgr, & it says: BT mini-reciever, ethernet controller, & SM bus controller do not have drivers installed...the
bt reciever is hardware ID : USB\VID_413C&PID_8130&REV_5800.
the ethernet controller hardware id is : PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_294C&SUBSYS_02151028&REV_02
the sm bus controller is : PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2930&SUBSYS_02151028&REV_02
I cannot believe it istaking so long to get this thing right.... GRRRRRR

You need to install all the necessary Drivers and not just the bluetooth. See Windows Reinstallation Guide/A Clean install of Windows Vista:

This will give you the detail you need regarding Driver install order.
For best results get the latest drivers from here and do not use the Driver Disc. If you are confused about what ones to install send me a private message with your Service Tag so I can have a look at your system configuration.
