Internet explorer dieing

When I try to get to Hotmail or some other microsoft pages IE says there is an error and ask to send or not send report to microsoft, either way IE closes.

Any Idea what would cause this.
The system says XP sp2, IE is 6 w/sp 2.

Thanks

When you get the message to send the report to Microsoft, click on the link to show details of the error. Write down and report here the AppName and ModName involved in the error. With that information, we may be able to help.

    Hi

Like steve said you need to check your computer for spyware/malware if you already havent.Click on the link "Essential spyware removal steps and other hijackthis help forums" below and follow all the instructions (Step 1-5) and post the hijackthis log(in the virus forums) after reading (Instructions a/b/c) after downloading/running all the programs mentioned there alongwith the Online anti-virus scans .Update all the programs ie spybot http://www.safer-networking.org/en/howto/update.html ,AND adaware http://www.colby-sawyer.edu/information/technology/updates/ad-awareusage.html
before logging into safe mode to run it .
