In short:  The Vista Home Basic that was shipped on the machine was upgraded and is now a mess.

I want to restore the Image on the recovery partition, but the option is no longer on the Advanced Boot Menu.

I can see the tools with Vista loaded, but cannot run them under windows.

How can I Recover the System that was shipped with the machine.
