Mouse/Cursor not working

Gateway PC runing 2000. 
Problem.  Mouse not working and cursor stayes in center of screen.  Tried two other good mouses.   Checked all connections.  Would reinstalling the driver help and what is the procedue for doing it.  Any other suggestion ?   Thanks a bunch .  Jim

    I dont think this is a good place to ask for help on a Gateway PC...
