I received a error message, Then lost my icons in, control panel, Desktop, and some in the Start menu. Any one know how to restore them? System Restore did not help.
It would sure be helpful to know the exact text of the error message? Are you running antivirus software with up to date virus definitions? Have you scanned for and removed all spyware/malware? Is you system up to date with all Windows critical updates?
