But, you said it's a Dimension 5000 which isn't a laptop so that MS link probably doesn't apply.
08e errors typically mean there's a memory problem. Unplug PC from the wall and hold the power button IN for about 15 sec. Open the case and carefully remove and reinstall the RAM modules. Carefully blow out any dust/dirt while your in there too.
Then reboot the PC and press F12 before XP loads. Run all the memory tests. If you get an error message, write it down and contact Dell for RAM replacement, if you're still under the warranty. Otherwise, you'll have to purchase a compatible RAM module(s) somewhere like Crucial, etc.
My French isn't that great (as you can obviously see). The stop message basically says that you have experienced a problem accessing your 5000's video subsystem. Microsoft acknowledges this is a problem on laptops. Supposed to be fixed by SP2.
You will note that troubleshooting tips reference the video display adapter, BIOS and memory caches. Some onboard video display adapters draw from total ram installed. Not sure what your case is. I think RoHe and I at least have you on a path to finding the root cause of your problem.
