I assume there's no 'Recovery' partition, such that you can reset the system to its factory settings (Ctrl + F11)?

Did you boot from the XP disc, and (quick-) format the hard drive, before starting the installation?

this is exactly what is happening to me whilst trying to reinstall Windows

At 34 mins I get a message

'The filke Iastor.sys on intel matrix storager manager is needed'

c:\windows\temp\ii\winall\driver

I have tried reinserting my operating system disc I also tried my resource disc no luck

Has anyone got an answer for me please
