Sonic Registration Crashes
I've got a new Dimension 9100, and any time I bring up something like MyDVD it triggers the Sonic registration app (leaderreg.exe), which then crashes after I select that I want to register on the web, or after I enter my information, it registers with Sonic, and comes back.
Faulting application leaderreg.exe, version 2.2.7.0, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x25306635.
The application, C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sonic Shared\Sonic Central\Main\LeaderReg.exe, generated an application error The error occurred on 08/27/2005 @ 02:38:10.203 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 25306635 ()
Tnat's an ACCESS_VIOLATION fault.
It's clearly obvious that it's trying to update something on the local system to indicate that it's done registering, and that's failing.
Any thoughts?

We have been experiencing mysterious c0000005 on WINWORD.exe and WORDPAD.exe and accessing Properties on a Dell Laser 1700 Printer. Problem stopped by removal of Microsoft Hotfix 896423 (MS05-043 Security Bulletin). The Laser was Default Printer, and evidently a driver module has a conflict with this Hotfix. I'm curious if this might affect your problem also. That HotFix was released 8/17/2005.
Our Tech people are reporting the Driver problem to Dell, so it will be interesting to see how soon they release a new driver version for Windows 2000 that does not conflict with the Microsoft Fix.
