Over the past year, I've installed SP2 about 4 times. Each time the computer slows down for some functions, e.g., the icons for MY COMPUTER take about 3 minutes to appear on the screen. Also,Dell Image Expert won't function and other items don't work properly. I've tried using Spyware and the other suggestions in Troubleshooting Windows XP Service Pack 2 Errors/Problems, but nothing helps. Each time, I uninstalled SP2 and the computer returns to normal. From what I've read, SP2 isn't all that important as long as I have a good anti-virus and firewall program. SP2 doesn't seem to be worth the trouble. Any comments? Thanks.
