SSL 2.0 versus 3.0, TLS 1.0

I recently tried to access a secure site (to make a payment online) and I kept getting the "no page to display" mssg.  I tried a different PC and it worked, so I figured it's my settings then.

When I went to Internet Options, to my surprise, I only have the SSL 2.0 checked, and not the SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0.  (All this time, I thought my system's been pretty secure using PC Pitstop's security recommendations .. 'Course, it has been awhile since I checked my settings ..)

So, all this time that I've made payments online or typed in confidential data on supposedly secure sites that I've been able to access with just SSL 2.0, my info could have been compromised ???
Can someone explain to me the differences (levels) between the 3 protocols?  Thx.
