Typing lag in Dell Inspiron

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone here may know if there is a reason why when I click on the icons it seems slow to pop up and also the typing feels slow. I also notice a slow reaction when I click on close a program. I have a Dell Inspiron 530 Desktop Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4mhz with vista premium. Thanks!

You need to post your exact model computer. We can't even tell if it's a desktop or laptop since Dell changed the meaning of Inspiron.

I have also Inspiron 530 minitower model with Vista Home premium. RAM is 1 GB(default configuration when I purchased). Booting time, folder opening/closing times are very high. Opening programs also takes long time. However I don't face lag during typing. Physical memory usage is about 77%. I tried Readyboost feature which did not improve the speed. I suppose this model needs more RAM - 2 to 4 GB. Now I see from Dell site that this model comes with default 3GB RAM. So you can check your RAM and make an upgrade of memory if required for improving the performance, though lag during typing may not be due to shortage in memory. Probably you can try disk clean up for this and delete temporary files through internet explorer.
