Upgrading a XPS720 to W7

Hi,

I have a XPX720 with Q6600 and HDDs in Raid 0. I am now planning to install W7 64-bit as a dual boot.  I will keep my current Vista x86 on the Raid 0 disks and install W7 on a SSD. Then I find that XPS720 is not on the Dell list of W7 compatible machines. Do anyone know what is the problem, and if this makes my plans impossible?

Thank you in advance for your help.

    MrUser,

This XPS should work. Have you gone to the following Msn site and checked for compatibility? Download the Advisor and it will check your machine and you can check compatibility  of other features of you machine. I'm using a XPS M2010 and it's not listed either but it's compatible and several have upgraded.

You might want to read thru the attached forum on the m2010 to get some insight on the problems had on this system and drivers. It may help Do open the northernlights url to see the procedure for reference.

    Thanks belboy,

I ran the advisor and it did not report anything really worrying. I will go ahead and try.

Thanks. I will try installing next weekend. I will go back to that thread if I face any bluetooth problems. I have a PS/2 keayboard plugged in already, will find me a mouse too. I will start a new thread on to get some questions answered regarding Raid.
