usb driver installation

Have new digital video camcorder, attached it to PC via USB cable, realized I should not have done that before installing the provided USB driver software.  Tried to then install it from the CD it came with, but no luck.  PIXELA Imagemaker won't recognize my camcorder??  HELP!

    you can try enabling the USB support in BIOS. also, check the device manager if the USB controller has an exclamation point or question mark to make sure that it's the driver that needs to be installed. what type of system do you have?
