Will Vista Premium allow you to downgrade to XP Pro?

Would i have to format the HD? I was hoping to save all the loaded software and drivers.

What you mean with "allow"

Jut boot to the XP Pro CD and install a clean XP on the system

Forget about that, that is posible on Upgrades.

You have to clean install no program will be transfered from Vista to XP.

What software are you afraid of?

Dell should send you the CDs for the software came pre-installed. Some of the software, also can be downloaded free from internet.
