VPN dialogue box bug

Hi all,

I'm having a very irritating problem, running a Dimension 2400 with XP Home Edition Service Pack 1.

I've enabled XP's built-in Virtual Private Network (VPN). When I need it, the VPN works fine. However, when I'm NOT using it, the VPN login dialogue box keeps popping up at inconvenient and irritating times. In particular, if I'm surfing the web and stumble across a website that won't resolve on the first try, the VPN dialogue pops up and blocks the browser from functioning until I close the VPN box. It usually pops under open windows, so I'm often not even aware it's there.

It happens consistently with Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer, though for some odd reason, the dialogue box that pops up in Explorer is different from the one that pops up under Firefox and Opera. Now it's also starting to happen occasionally when I receive HTML e-mail in Eudora.

It's not a terrible problem, but it's extremely irritating, especially when I'm working. Does anyone have a fix for this short of deinstalling the VPN?

Many thanks!
