What if Ctrl F11 doesnt work?

Hi,
Ive resently bought a second hand D600 - its acting a bit screwy, i cant connect to the internet and it crashes regularly. I want to factory restore it but It didnt come with a restore disk, and CTRL f11 doesnt do anything (i think it was reformatted before it was sold on) What can I do? can i reinstall XP using someone elses OS disk and my licence key? Will i need additional dell software? Can I download / get a disk from dell

Thanks in advance

The person you bought it from should have included the Operating System CD (other drivers can be downloaded from the Dell downloads).  Since it's a second handed system and  unless the original owner did the Dell owner transfer I don't know if Dell will give your (or even sell you) an OEM Windows XP installation CD.  You can use one from another Dell as long as it's the same Version of Windows XP.   Check the Dell FAQ about ordering CD's.

Otherwise you are looking at buying a retail copy of XP.

If yours is Pro and they have a Pro CD it will probably work.  I don't think whether it's a basic XP Pro or one with XP Pro SP1 or SP2 will matter.
