Windows 8 preview

I have been running Windows 8 (x64) preview edition on my old Dell latitude D820.  No problems, no driver issues.  All original hardware works with Microsoft supplied drivers.  Originally the D820 had Vista.  One point to consider is that an install with all the "bells and whistles" is over five gigabytes, and therefore  will not fit on a single DVD.  You may be able to do the install from a double layer DVD or a Blu-ray disk.  I did the install from and USB flash drive.  Microsoft has a new utility called the "Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool which can convert an ISO O/S installation image to a bootable USB Flash drive.

    Good stuff!

Is it worth installing Windows8 on a Dell D820?

Does it have improvements over WinXP running on the D820?

    Cheers,

According to Wikipedia:  "Forum spam is the creating of messages that are advertisements, abusive, or otherwise unwanted on Internet forums. It is generally done by automated spambots, or manually with unscrupulous intentions."

Seemed to have nothing at all to do with the thread, nor was there a 'glowing review' ... simply some early comments on Windows 8.  So, needless to say, I did not get the humor in your comment, as it made no sense in any context in the thread.  This forum is not simply to help those who need help, but to also discuss relevant topics.  msgale is not a Microsoft employee, but a long-time volunteer on these forums.  If I were to read into your comment, I might think you are not a W8 fan ... whether or not you are, if you have anything relevant to add to the discussion, feel free.
