Yes this can be done. If you purchased your Dell with Windows Media Center, a DVD burner and Sonic PrimeTime you can burn recorded content to DVD. I am sure there are other programs that will do this also.

Actually the answer is "NO".  My new Dell Media Center Primetime Sonic 1.1 software does'nt work.

I PURCHASED SONIC PRIME TIME I DOWNLOADED IT IT APPEARS ON MEDIA CENTER BUT THE BURN LIGHT  DOES NOT COME ON. HAVE YOU HAD ANY LUCK WITH YOURS?

     Actually thats what started the problem that I have now.  In my media center the "burn DVD" failed to light up. I tried using DVD-RW and DVD-R blank disks and neither of them would work. So I uninstalled and re-installed Sonic PrimeTime 1.1 and after that I noticed that the screen in my Media Center that showed the button that read "burn DVD" was missing. I send Sonic Software a e-mail describing my situation but I received nothing back from them. I have to assume they dont give a darn.  Anyways, I'll let you know if I hear anything.  You can reach me at  bm1279@hotmail.com if you want anymore information.

Bernie, if you are using one of the Dell DVD burners you must use DVD+R or DVD+RW media, DVD-R/RW will not work...

Actually,  I checked the box of Sony DVD-R discs I used but did'nt work and it says "for use with DVD recordable drives and video recorders that support DVD-R media".  Are these DVD Media discs?

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!!    I actually needed to use DVD+R or DVD+RW discs instead of the DVD-R  and DVD- RW discs I tried to use.  I failed to realize that there are "+" and "-" DVD discs.
