Dell does not support Windows 7 Operating system on Inspiron 6000.  Hence required drivers are not available. You may try installing it and some of the drivers may get installed by Windows update.  However I cannot assure you that all the features/drivers will work.

Windows 7 64 bit won't work on that model.

Windows 7 32 bit will work but your Windows Experience Index won't be great and you won't get aero.

Unofficial drivers for this model are available here which aren't supported by Dell, with some workarounds:

Use a retail .iso Step 3b without a product key and assess its performance. If you like how Windows 7 runs on your machine purchase a product key.

Ensure this machine has 1-2 GB of RAM instalelr before attempting Windows 7 installation.
