Windows XP dual boot problem

I have a Dell Precision 360 machine. The old HD has Win XP SP2 installed. I changed the jumper setting to slave and added another HD with master jumper setting and installed Ubuntu linux on it. I changed the menu.lst file on GRUB directory to allow me to load Windows. The GRUB loader now gives me the option of loading Ubuntu or Windows. But when I choose the windows option it displays Dell diagnostic software which checks for errors. No errors are found but it won't load Win XP. When I close it, it reboots again and when I choose Windows in the GRUB menu it shows up the diagnostics software again. How do I get Win XP to boot again?

Solved the problem by editing the menu.lst file again. Changed to 'rootnoverify (hd1,1)' and it worked! Thanks
