WIndows XP question

I am new to this forum, so please forgive me if this question has been asked. I have 5 user accounts on my PC. Could anyone tell me when I download something from the internet or load some software program how and can I keep it from showing up on the other 4 accounts that I have? Any help would greatly appreciated.

Some downloads/programs add themselves to the "All Users" folder and some don`t.

The shortcuts are in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\desktop.
That way they are available for all users.

To avoid that copy the shortcut to C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\Desktop

You will have to repeat the step above for each User who needs to use the program.  Just go C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Desktop and do the same thing.

Now you can delete the shortcut in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\desktop.ain.

I hope you can understand that.  If not just ask again

You seem to be smart with XP answers. I hope you don't mind if I ask you one. Can you tell me how to add my family photos to Media Center Pictures file/folders?

Just go to Media Center and click on "My Pictures". It will ask you if you want to add pictures. Click "yes". Click "Add Folders" and then click "Next", Click "add folders on this computer" (if they are not on another computer), Click on the folder that your pictures are in, click next.

Thank you for writing back. Actually, I have tried that process about 30 times and it still says no changes have been made. I can view the "folder" icon, but cannot open the pictures. I keep all my folders of my photos in a general folder on my desktop. I tried moving my pictures to my documents, and still, media center won't add my pictures. I don't know what else to try. Is Media Center the only program on xp to put photos on dvd's with music?

Thank you so much for all of your help.

Hmm....I`m afraid I don`t know much about Media Centre or working with photos.

This post has dropped way down the order, so I think you should post again about this problem and hopefully someone else will help you.

"post moved way down"  means that your question is now on page 3 of the forum since it was first posted a few days ago.  Therefore not many people will see it. That`s the way it works for all. As new posts are made, older ones move down the list until they are on page 2, then page 3 and so on.

I don`t know what would be a good program for you to use.  I suspect you would have to buy one.

You need answers from people who have experience of this, so it would be better for you to make a new post which will appear on the current (1st) page which everyone reads.

I'm not sure what post moved way down, means. Can you explain this to me? Also, what other programs on xp can I use to put photos with music on a DVD?

    Thank you

I sometimes use "windows explorer" to burn photos on cds as backup. It might work with dvds also.

Open "windows explorer", not internet explorer.

Find the photos you want to burn

Select (highlight) all the photos you want to burn

Right click on one of the photos

Select "send to" and then click on your dvd drive

Look for a bubble down by your clock on your taskbar telling you that the files are ready to burn.

Click on the icon by the bubble and just follow instructions

    It's very simple

    Windows cannot burn DVDs.
