Windows XP SP3 Question
Has anyone heard if there is going to be an update from the SP2 version of Windows XP to the Windows XP Sp 3 i thought i read something about that but was not too sure... Brain so to speak on my part

My Inspiron 6000 notebook downloaded SP3 automatically a couple weeks ago but I haven't installed it yet. I've been scared to. Has anyone had any problems w/ SP3? PS I've never put SP2 on my desktop and I got the CD free at Best BuChristine
Cable Modem to Alpha Shield firewall to Netgear Router. Wireless to Inspirion 6000 and wire to desktop.355

XP SP3 does not exist as yet. What you downloaded was probably SP3 to one of the versions of Office.
You should install SP2 to XP as there will come a time in the near future when systems which don't have that installed will not be able to access Critical Updates and other information from Microsoft.

Yes, Thankyou. I hadn't noticed that it was Office XP Service Pack 3. I didn't catch the Office part. And I didn't think that I had Office because I have MS Works but that includes Word 2002.Christine

XP SP3 will be out by the end of this year or beginning of next year. Windows vista i would wait on for a year and a half.
