702 & 701 differences

Would someone be kind enough to tell me the difference between Dell 17 L701 & L702

Oh yes, it will work but you will have to change the heatsink almost for sure.

Chassis, bottom cover, ram, Lcd, Usb board, various circuitry... is all the same. Cpu is not, obviously.

This is all off the top of my head, you may want to double check on a website that sells spare parts for example, but overall should be correct!

Cannot thank you enough.
Does this mean I can put the 702 motherboard etc into the 701 frame?

L702x is a hardware refresh of the L701x, upgrading to newer Sandy Bridge processors from previous Arrandale ones. So there's a different motherboard too.

Apart from that there's almost no difference!

Same computer just a upgrade The chassis are identical except for the motherboard and screen terminals so if you want to change the 701 to 702 you only need a screen motherboard and new keys there is a slight diffrence in performance you would hardly notice
