Memory Issue

Hi

My laptop is starting to tell me that I am low on memory and I was hoping to increase my memory capacity but I have been reading that there are no upgrades available.

Is this correct? And if it is, why? It was expensive

If it is the case, are there any things that I can do without having to change my laptop.

Phil

If it's a 13" or 14" XPS, the RAM is soldered so the only way to upgrade it is to replace the system board if there is a model that had more RAM.

On most 15" and 16" XPS models, the RAM is upgradeable.

If you need a more precise answer, post the full model number (XPS 9350, 9440, 9530, etc.).

The RAM on these is soldered.  There were 4, 8 and 16 G versions, but it's probably going to cost as much to replace the board as to buy a complete used system - perhaps one a couple of generations newer.
