OLED or IPS? Reflection

Hello everyone.

I would like to buy a a XPS 15 with 4k screen, but I'm not sure if is better for me the oled or the ips version. The oled one would be cheaper and better in terms of colors, black and contrast. On the other side one big issue is the reflection of the screen under direct sunlight outside. On the web I have read several different opinions. Somebody say the oled is good also under direct sunlight, instead other people assure that the oled one is glossy and very reflective outside. This is an important factor for me in order to decide, so I would like to ask how does the oled screen of the XPS 15 4k behave outside with a lot of environmental light.  Thank you so much.

The following might help. Read carefully the analysis of the OLED screen. The reviewer stated that the screen is very reflective bouncing images like crazy.

OLED is generally better but more expensive.

The main advantage of OLED is the deeper blacks, and higher contrast as compared to IPS.  This gives OLED a better overall picture quality in most cases.

OLED is also able is to display a deep black against a very bright white, which IPS struggles with, even with local dimming.

OLED is also more flexible in it’s applications. It can be made partially transparent, can be flexible, and can be made far thinner then an LCD IPS panel can be made.

Here is a detailed comparison between them:  https://pctechtest.com/ips-versus-oled-display-monitor
