XPS 15 9570, really bad quality of the speakers
Hi all, I had this problem before I updated the Realtek driver (ver. 6.0.1.8603) with the strange sound crackling. The problem was resolved with this version, BUT today I updated the bios to 1.8.1 and NOW the sound is even worse. The bass is distorted and totally ruins the 2k euros of a laptop worth EXPERIENCE! Not to mention the space bar problem I had and still have (They tried to fix it and still it is not responsive on the left bottom side).

Dude thank you so much. Such sensible straightforward advice. Totally cleared up the issue. I'd been looking around for a while before I found this answer. To elaborate on this go to: https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/xps-15-9570-laptop/drivers
Then under the 'category' dropdown select 'audio'. Download the Realtek high definition audio driver. See image below.

I'm having the same audio issues as you described. Before the most recent driver updates I would get a lot of crackling come from the speakers. After installing the bios update the speakers sound like the treble has been lowered and the bass is super high. Watching scenes with dialogue is super painful due to the high bass in sound. Super disappointed with my laptop experience so far. Wouldn't recommend Dell to family or friends.

@ben_ie_d Thank you! My XPS had 2 motherboard replacements (first was my cat's fault, the second was a bad power plug that took the motherboard with it). After the second installation it run a bunch of updates including BIOS. Then I noticed the speakers sounded bad. I thought the motherboard replacement had damaged the hardware. I was almost ready to order new speaker parts then I saw your solution in my research. Updating the driver worked!! I never thought a driver would affect sound quality! Thank you sir!

I have the same stuff right now. Latest drives does not help. What should I do? This Dell thing is really bad! So many hours spend trying to fix sound that gone wrong and not by my fault.
