RDS Licensing mode not configured on Server 2012
Does anybody get this on a Server 2012r2 RDS server.
I have installed vWorkspace 'Terminal Server / RD Session Host Role' and have enabled 'Remote Desktop Session Host' feature on the RDS server and when I login to the RDS server I get a little pop up in bottom right corner saying
'Remote Desktop licensing mode is not configured' Remote desktop services will stop working in 106 days.
Any Ideas......

Hi Dan,
A 2012r2 RDS will require a 2012 remote desktop licence server with 2012 remote desktop cals installed to process the licensing.
Have you got a 2012 remote desktop license server configured in you environment or is it 2008? If not you will need to set one up, but it can be used to serve existing 2008 RDS servers if you wanted to consolidate everything onto one server.
Without a license server configured it will revert to the 120 day grace period you get as standard with a session host.
Thanks

Hi Mike,
Yes we have a 2008 license server, so looks like we need to upgrade that.
Thanks

Hi Dan,
Yes you will as you cannot add 2012 rds cals to a 2008 licensing server.
