Aurora R12, Case Swapped!

IMG-0368.jpgIMG-0370.jpgIMG-0374.jpg

I've been case swapping this PC for a while and I wanted to show the (almost) finished product! I'm going to upgrade the CPU cooler over the stock one in a later on. If anyone has questions on how to do this, I'll answer if I don't forget.

Very well done and the Fractal cases are well made and very attractive!

Newbie here, no experience with case swapping, did you have any problems with the motherboard or cable management?

This video talks about everything you shouldn't have any issues other than needing cable extensions for the power supply

very nice,. im going to attempt a case swap on my R12,..my current specs are win 11 pro,  112gb DDR4 ram kingston fury beast,. msi rtx 3060 12gb vram, stock i5 11400f,  a pcie triple SSD adapter with fan, i switched the top case fan to a 6000rpm one and took the stock dell (rated 3000rpm) where the HDD cage was and theres also another 2 inch fan in there too,. so 4 fans now instead of 2,. it still runs good, fast,. but sounds alot like an aircraft when playing forza,.. for speakers i use a Bose 600 soundbar and dual Bose 10" subwoofers, models 300, and 500,..i love it, the neighbours hate it,..wrapped in razer everything(keyboard, mouse, mat, webcam,) and a 30" curved 2k screen.

That turned out really clean! The Aurora R12 definitely looks much better with the extra room and airflow you get from a standard case.

For anyone considering doing the same swap, it would be really helpful to know which parts were plug-and-play and which required modifications, especially the front-panel connections, power button, and PSU. I’d also be interested to hear what kind of CPU/GPU temperatures you’re getting compared with the original Aurora case.

Looking forward to seeing it once you upgrade the CPU cooler!

I believe that I'll be doing similar, but just getting a different board and tower.  30 second boot lag, cannot get AWCC to work with my 11700kf, and the fact Dell hasn't released an updated bios for five years or respond to inquiries about overclocking/undervolting the R12 tells me they have absolutely no interest in legacy customers.  So, going to take out the memory, gpu and cpu, and begin again.  Nice looking rig!
