Aurora R5, identifying PSU
Based on my service tag and checking the original configuration online, it suggests that I have a 850W PSU:
321-BCEE :
850W PSU Air Cooled Chassis
257-BBEH : Regulatory Label for
850W
Would this be accurate, or should I contact Dell to confirm?

Please send the actual Dell P/N for your psu which would help other users to upgrade psu.

After swinging out the PSU "arm", it took 6 screws to remove remove the PSU from the bracket. Based on the label it looks like I do have an 850W PSU - here are the pics:
Hope these pics helps others.
In the meantime, does this mean I can upgrade the GPU from the GTX 970 to something like a GTX 1060/1070/1080 Ti cards (as long as they fit)? Any recommendations?

If your cpu is i7-6700, it is too weak a processor for GTX 1080 and 1070ti, but GTX 1070 would be a good match.
Graphic card and processor will work great together
Intel Core i7-6700 (Clock speed at 100%) with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (Clock speed at 100%) x1 will produce only 7.49% of bottleneck.
if your cpu is i7-6700k, then 1080 is a good match.
Intel Core i7-6700K (Clock speed at 100%) with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (Clock speed at 100%) x1 will produce only 6.66% of bottleneck.
I suggest not to get GTX 970 because maxwell gpu architecture is getting outdated and it has only 3GB vRAM.

If you are going for a 1080ti, the MSI Aero 1080ti is basically the retail version of what you would have gotten stock from Dell (difference is, you get MSI branding on it). These days, you're pretty much limited to pre-owned stock for pascal gen cards. The MSI Aero has been selling preowned for around $440 on eBay lately (price has gone up slightly in the last few months).

Yes, that is the 850w (modular) Dell OEM PS. I've always thought the Delta's to be better than other OEM ones.
I like Nvidia also. Just remember, if you get a "tall" card (like 1 inch above hold-down-screw) ... you will have to rip-out lower power-supply brace (see other threads).

The 460 is not modular.
The 850 has many removable cables.

I think only the 850w units are modular.
If you swing it out and remove a couple of screws, you can see the actually large "specs label" (so take a phone pic).
