Aurora R5, possible upgrades
Hello everyone, I was wondering if you would be kind enough to offer me some advice please. We bought my son an Alienware Aurora R5 a while ago and he is now looking at possible upgrades to improve his gaming. I frankly have no clue about this sort of thing. Is there somewhere I can just put in his order tag/details and then select upgradable parts that will suit or could anyone offer some advice on where to start! Many thanks, Chris

Not knowing the configuration of his current system, or what games he is playing, this will be a bit of a general post on upgrades. Memory would be the first thing to look at and especially if he has only 8 GB of RAM. I would upgrade to at least 16 though he can go as high as 64, but that is overkill as 16 is more than enough for now (but he can go 32 if he wants to future proof it a bit). That would be DDR4 2133 (or 2400 if he has enabled XMP). Next a high quality video card. I have no idea if he has a 460W or 850W PSU. If 850 then he can install anything up to a GTX 1080 . If 460 then he can easily go up to a GTX 1060 6 GB.
These links should help.
