Hi, I have a problem i cannot understand with this laptop: i bought a new SSD to upgrade the factory one, but after installing correctly the SSD drive my system simply won't turn on. Seeem it tries some check on mobo or bios, fails and not turn on.
The ssd is a sabrent, but i tried even with a samsung EVO 970 and have the same result, if the new SSD is plugged in, with the factory one or without it, the system is not turning on.
If i remove the new SSD (sabrent or samsung) it turns on correctly.
I tried disconnecting the battery cable and hitting the power button for 30 sec but still nothing.Any ideas? Maybe is something i have to check or configure on bios? Many thanks

According to the link: https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_laptop/esuprt_alienware_laptops/alienware-13_reference%20guide_en-us.pdf, your Alienware only supports SATA M.2 SSD drives.
Did you check your user manual? Please check it.
Or you could perform Alienware SSD upgrade with a success.
Many thanks in Italian dell website I could not find any specification document of this laptop, and i read in support that it was able to run Sata and PCIe, but probably while is possible to install on the cardboard, the logic board controller is not compatible
Many thanks I solvd with a WD blue 1T, even if it isn't as the sabrent speaking about performance .

Though the successor 13 R3 models do support NVMe drives, I think you'll find the R1 supports only M.2 SATA drives - not NVMe.
The 960 EVO SATA should work.
